Monday evening, a crowd of almost 1,000 pro-lifers attended the annual Right to Life of North Central Indiana Fall Legacy of Life Banquet at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center on the campus of Grace College in Winona Lake. The banquet took place on Monday, September 22.
Attendees enjoyed emcee, Pat Miller and were motivated by an uplifting message from keynote speaker, Angela Minter who had two abortions as a teenager and later in life found out that her parents had tried to abort her. She was a great example of how God can bring forgiveness and healing to all of us. The evening included an update from director, Dave Koontz and also from Heartline Pregnancy Center director, Angie Wood.
Three Mary Louise Lowe Life Awards were awarded. Recipients were Brian Catron for his work for Right to Life, Rebecca Bazzoni of Joe’s Kids and Christ’s Covenant Church for its support for the Mobile Pregnancy Center campaign.
As always, Our Father’s House catered a great dinner In addition to some great food we were able to serve the food, buffet-style to 1,000 people in less than 30 minutes.
Due to the generosity of those who attended the banquet, over $100,000 was raised for RTL of NCI programs including supporting Heartline and other area Pregnancy Centers as well as the Mobile Pregnancy Center.
This event would not be possible without the help of over 100 volunteers. Volunteers helped with setup on Saturday, throughout the day on Monday (including during the banquet) and tear down afterwards that was completed in record time. Many of these volunteers were Grace College students. RTL of NCI very much appreciates the partnership we have with Grace in planning and coordinating the banquet.
This year, for the first time, we also partnered with Christie Ziebarth and the Lakeland Christian Academy art students. The students designed and produced (with the assistance of Rodney Nissley) the centerpieces for the banquet. We look forward to working with Christie and the students on the centerpieces for future banquets.
The following are banquet sponsors who generously help us keep the cost of the tickets at a reasonable $20.00
